Beautiful Attraction

“You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace. How delightful is your live, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is our love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice!” Song of Songs 4:9-10

In the book of Song of Songs, Solomon gives us a very graphic, visual, and stirring description of what a God centered love relationship with a man and a woman can look like. Make no mistake about it, this is not an analogy of God's love for man, this book is purely a love relationship between a man and a woman.  It is very passionate, exciting, erotic, and at the same time, it is intimate, gentle and sweet. Which I wouldn’t expect anything less, being that an awesome God created love and sex. To have this kind of passion for another person is not only good, but it is very good.

Yesterday I was at McDonalds eating my Kung Fu Panda Happy Meal, and I herd behind me a couple sitting down. They were sitting together all cuddly, sweet talking each other. Since school is out, I though it was a bunch of kids. I got up to go refill my large coke and I looked at them, they were like 60 years old. At first I was grossed out. But as I was walking to refill my soda, God plopped the idea in my head, “Why is that gross? You know how awesome that is?” Then as I was watching my Coke fill up I began to analyze how much it is for a miracle it is to put a man and a woman together. There are so many factors, from their first meeting, to them getting together, then when their hearts go beyond friendship to lovers. It is a complicated process. It easy to see, but difficult to explain. So often we want to play Cupid, but we are in no comparison to God when he brings two people together.   The process is nothing short of miraculous.  When He does bring a man and a woman together, and it is passionate, thrilling, and exciting, it is awesome.  So as I went back to my seat and finish my Kung Fu Panda Chinken McNuggett meal, I smiled at the couple. It was a beautiful sight to see.

Oh Lord the amazing things you do. I am just in awe of what you do.
